Just Wallpaper Is Ready To Help You Find Wallpaper For Your Home Or Business
Wallpaper isn't what you remember from your grandma's kitchen in the 1970s. Wallpaper is elevated these days and it attracted the interest of two Berwyn entrepreneurs, JULIA HAMILTON and KATE SANDERSON. The duo discovered the only local wallpaper shop owner was retiring after 40 years in business.
They discussed the potential for the business and initially thought of wallpaper as a side gig. Both were working as Realtors at the time (Sanderson is still a full-time Realtor).Then a funny thing happened. As they discovered more and more about the industry, the more they wanted to share their love of it . Again, the wallpaper of today is not the wallpaper of days gone by. It is, as much as anything, art and the new art of wallpaper blends classic and traditional with cutting edge modernity. It is a way for home owners to define their space. Julia and Kate believe in decorating your home for you- not the future buyers.
Sanderson and Hamilton have worked in art, design, customer service and real estate. Out of the gate they imagined the business as in-home consultation rather than a walk-in shop. Customers had other plans. They wanted to walk in off the street, talk and look at books in their Berwyn location. The small office turned shop became a library of wallpaper. Keep in mind the wallpaper books are HUGE and the shop has a 1000 book library. Each customer is likely to go through a dozen books making choices.
On April 9 the business opened a larger shop in Brookfield. The larger shop was, first and foremost, a way to deal with this increasing walk-in and by-appointment customers. The growing demand demanded a larger venue. Now they have the space for multiple clients to shop with them.
Wallpaper stores are rare birds these days; shopping is generally in person and many brands do not sell online.
